These pages contain the chronicle of Don Richardson's trip around the United States.
Making this journey has been a dream of Don's for a number of years. On Don's 80th birthday in the spring of 2008, as a birthday gift, his children began working towards turning the dream into reality. After much preparation, Don, his son Paul, and his dog Joey set out from Seattle on September 24th 2008. They travelled across the northern states to Indiana where his sister Betty-Lou joined them for a few days on the road to New York. Cissy, another sister, took over there and toured New England with him. Most of the eastern Seaboard was with Jim, his daughter Sherry's husband. Sherry went from South Carolina through Georgia and eastern Florida to western Florida where he connected with his oldest daughter Debra and her husband Russ. They drove across to Texas where Don's brother Hubert and his wife Pearl took over. Don, Hubert, and Pearl covered western Texas to San Diego where Jim rejoined the expedition to finish up the trip going up the west coast to Seattle.
